Early Childhood Education

In early childhood education at Lynfield College students will gain a good understanding of issues relating to the development, care and education of young children
We want our young people to be
  • Confident when dealing with young children, their parents and their teachers
  • Connected within the classroom, the family and the wider early childhood education services in the community
  • Actively involved, contributing positively and presenting themselves in a professional manner
  • Lifelong learners within a sustainable world environment
 
Students are able to study Childcare at Level 2 and 3. The course consists of unit standards that are provided and moderated by Manukau Institute of Technology.

Learning Outcomes in Early Childhood Education

Over two years of ECE students will demonstrate understanding of the following topics:

  • Age-related nutrition needs
