Sport, Arts, and Culture Festival Awards

At Lynfield College, we celebrate the achievements of our students in extra-curricular activities at special awards events.

For the seniors (Years 11, 12 and 13) we have our Festival Awards Evening in October.

For the juniors, (Years 9 and 10) we have a special prize-giving event in early to mid-November where parents, caregivers and families can celebrate with the award winning students.
 
The top awards in extra-curricular activities are Colours and Colours with Honours. The criteria for achieving these are as follows:
 
Lynfield College Colours
 
Senior students (Years 11, 12 and 13) receive Lynfield College Colours when they:
  • have completed at least two years in the senior school in a top team or group or individual activity in an activity which is offered at Lynfield College and/or have achieved at regional or national level in an activity which is offered at Lynfield College
  • have personally performed at a high standard
  • have met school citizenship criteria (see below)
 
Lynfield College Colours with Honours
 
Senior students receive Lynfield College Colours with Honours when they
  • have completed at least three years in the senior school in a top team/group or individual activity in an activity which is offered at Lynfield College and/or have achieved at regional or national level in an activity which is offered at Lynfield College
  • have been awarded Lynfield College  colours
  • have personally performed at a high standard
  • continue to meet the school citizenship criteria
 
Lynfield College Junior Colours
 
Junior students receive Lynfield College Junior Colours when they 
  • have performed in a top team/group or individual activity for two years in an activity which is offered at Lynfield College and/or have achieved at regional or national level in an activity which is offered at Lynfield College
  • have personally performed at a high standard
  • have met school citizenship criteria.
 
Please note: The award of junior colours cannot be carried forward to meeting the criteria for colours in the senior school.
 
 
School citizenship criteria
  
All awards are dependent on students meeting the following criteria:
  • Minimum 85% attendance at practices and performances and at classes
  • All school codes are followed, including school rules and fair play codes
  • No major disciplinary action has been warranted either in the extra-curricular activity or in  general school activities.
