The goals in the 2012 plan are consistent with, and clearly focused on, the Lynfield College
Strategic Direction.

Implementation of the Lynfield Curriculum.

To build deeper understanding of the process of inquiry, and the contexts in which teaching as inquiry can be used to improve learning and teaching.

To create opportunities for sustainable professional learning about effective teaching practice through incorporating teaching as inquiry and the Registered Teacher Criteria into the performance management system.

To participate in a professional learning group focused on the Achievement Goal and providing evidence for Registered Teacher Criteria. (Criterion 12 - Use critical inquiry and problem-solving effectively in their professional practice).

Mâori Achievement

To increase retention of Mâori students to a level comparable to the whole school between Year 9 and Year 13.

To implement a strategy to improve the cultural competence of teachers in support of teaching Mâori learners well. (Read and discuss Ka Hikitia: Managing Success Mâori Education Strategy as a first step in developing knowledge about the Treaty of Waitangi curriculum principle.
