Introduction to the Enrolment Scheme

Enrolment at Lynfield College is governed by an Enrolment scheme, which consists of a home zone and procedures for enrolling out of zone students.

The purpose of the Enrolment scheme is to avoid overcrowding, to ensure fair and transparent selection, and to ensure the best use of schools.

The instructions relating to the operation of enrolment schemes are issued under section 11G (1) of the Education Act 1989.

"Pre-enrolment" means the period in which out of zone applications for enrolment are invited by the school, ending with a deadline by which applications for enrolment must be received. Information about the pre-enrolment period and the timeline for all enrolments for next year is detailed below.

Out of Zone Priority Categories:

  • Category 2: Applicants who are brothers or sisters of current students
  • Category 3: Applicants who are brothers or sisters of former students
  • Category 4: Applicants who are children of Board employees
  • Category 5: All other applicants
