Hospitality Hard Materials Technology

Technology is intervention by design: the use of practical and intellectual resources to develop products and systems. The aim of Technology is for students to develop a broad technological literacy that will equip students to participate in society as informed citizens and give students access to technology-related careers.

Technology at Lynfield College encompasses four different subject areas: Graphics, Home Economics, Digital Technologies and Materials Technology that possess an inter-linked set of common goals. Students undertaking a course of study within any of the four technological subject areas will learn practical skills, develop ideas, use digital and industrial technologies and experience a variety of learning mediums through diverse contexts.

The Technology Faculty provides appropriate and targeted pathways into the tertiary sector for all students as well as providing foundational technological courses for students moving directly into employment. Opportunities are aligned with teachers own skills and knowledge, that promote deeper learning and engagement of students.
