Learning Assistants

FIXED TERM | TERM TIME ONLY | STARTING FEBRUARY 2023

We are looking for active, enthusiastic, caring people who have the passion and motivation to work with closely with students with learning and behaviour challenges in our collaborative Learning Support Department. Effective people skills, teamwork, initiative, a sense of humour and experience working with adolescents is essential. The position may also involve assisting students, as required, with their personal care, hygiene, toileting and sensory challenges.

Excellent spoken and written English language skills are essential as is IT competency. Applicants must have New Zealand residency. The role is subject to a satisfactory Police check.

The position is for 31 hours per week, during term time only.

Bilingual Learning Assistant

FIXED TERM | TERM TIME ONLY | STARTING FEBRUARY 2023

We are seeking an enthusiastic, supportive bilingual teacher aide to assist Afghani students in their learning. The candidate will be fluent in Dari and English, willing to work closely with the Coordinator for Former Refugees and teachers, and ideally have experience in working with Former Refugees. Duties will include supporting students in class, liaising with parents, interpreting in parent-teacher-student conferences, and assisting with enrolment of new students.

Spoken and written English language skills are essential as is IT competency. Applicants must have New Zealand residency. The role is subject to a satisfactory Police check.

The position is for 16 hours per week, during term time only.
