We are now in the main arena, which is called The Dome, waiting for the Grand Finals and Awards Ceremony. The Dome is massive and it's full of 7000 to 8000 excited High School students, all making noise and all having fun. We have had a great time, even though we didn't make it to finals. Craig Yearbury
7: 28 AM | We finished the Qualifications round ranked 14 out of 83 in the division. We progressed to the Round of 16 Elimination round ranked as the 11th seeded alliance. We were the last elimination match where the team lost by just 3 points! That is only one scoring element (ring). What a way to finish a year of intense competition. The team will now hang around to see what next years game is then it’s back to the hotel, packing up ready for the long flight home. Thanks to all for your support. Cheers from Doug Bryan (and all the students involved in Robotics at LC)

Today, the team has departed for the United States to compete in the World Championships. We were able to reach this important milestone thanks to the incredible support and encouragement from so many people. When we reached our donation goal of $25,000 through Give a Little, the entire team and everyone involved celebrated with great joy. Lynfield College Robotics Team 2915E has spent the past year designing, building, and programming their robots for the 2024 - 2025 National Championships, dedicating countless hours after school, at scrimmages, and even during holidays to perfect them.
In February 2025, they competed against 76 New Zealand teams at the VEX Robotics National Championships, securing back-to-back titles! Now, they have the incredible chance to represent New Zealand at the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship in Texas, from 6 to 8 May.
But they need your help, please donate on their Give A Little page https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/lynfield-college-robotics.
Your support will help cover travel, accommodation and competition costs, bringing them closer to the world stage. Every contribution counts. Thank you for being part of their journey!
On Thursday, Lynfield College Robotics was given an awesome opportunity to present at the UoA Newmarket Innovation Precinct and to show high school Robotics to a wide group of startups and companies.
We really enjoyed our time, showing our passionate hard work and gained experience from Robotics. We were also given a tour of the precinct, where we got to see the lovely facilities that UoA has to offer, especially their amazing workshop.
Our Robotics team was grateful for this opportunity and were glad to have experienced it.
