An Evening of Talanoa

On Thursday 3 April in the Staffroom we welcomed a wonderful turnout of Pasifika students, parents and their families for ‘An Evening of Talanoa’.

The challenges discussed were around the future aspirations of our Pasifika students and what does success look like for them at Lynfield College?  Our host Jeremiah Tauti, a Senior Advisor Pasifika: Ministry of Education, lead the ‘talanoa’ with passion, humour and a shared understanding of what our students need in order to succeed. The evening was a excellent celebration of culture and diversity. We will be continuing Talanoa in Term 2. This is an evening not to be missed!

'Talanoa' brings clarity and contributes to authentic relationships when communications are open, honest and exchanged with respect, humility and love.
