Beauty Therapy

 

Beauty Therapy is offered to Year 12 or 13 students. The course has a mixture of Achievement Standards, Unit Standards and skill based learning. This course is ideal for students who are contemplating a career in the beauty industry (Beauty Therapist, Hair dresser, Makeup artist) or for those who have a passion for beauty and would like to gain further knowledge and refine their skills. Learning Outcomes in Beauty Therapy Gain knowledge of industry Health & Safety requirements Personal presentation Provide customer service Attend to customers' inquiries face to face and over the telephone Aromatherapy -  Product research and development Gain knowledge on makeup products Refine makeup application techniques Demonstrate Special Effects makeup techniques

 

Student opportunities and experiences: Students are encouraged to extend themselves and develop a broad experience within different areas related to Beauty Therapy through the following opportunities:   Work experience through the Gateway programme Workshops at school or local tertiary providers Trips to Beauty schools/Makeup Companies Guest speakers at careers week Skills development during the School Production and Fashion Show
