Through engaging in the visual arts, students learn how to discern, participate in, and celebrate their own and others peoples’ visual worlds.

In a world where art making technologies and multi-disciplinary practices are constantly evolving, at Lynfield College we pride ourselves on offering visual arts courses that are current, relevant and valuable to our students now, and for their future.

In the junior school, students learn about and undertake practical work in a range of media including painting, printmaking and digital media.

In the senior school courses are offered in Design, Painting and Photography. At all year levels, theoretical investigations inform students’ practical work.

The department offers a range of co-curricular opportunities for our students. These include:

  • Participation in the Pah Homestead Community Day exhibition
  • Participation in a range of local and national competitions
  • Showcasing student art works in the school magazine
  • Involvement in designing for the school production
  • Pat Hanly Creativity Awards
  • Mural projects.
