12ARD - DESIGN
During the year-long Year 12 Design programme students engage in cycles of research, design, and production of a set of playing cards based on characters from a famous novel of their choice.
Hand drawing, and digital drawing and painting are central to this programme.
Students use Photoshop and Illustrator to produce a large body of work using influences from a range of established New Zealand and international designers. |

12ARP - PAINTING
During the year-long Year 12 Painting programme, students engage in cycles of research and practical work based on the broad theme of ‘figure in space’. Drawing and painting, and critical and creative thinking, are central to this programme. Students investigate a wide range of paintings to learn about ideas and methods to inform their own practice.
Students visit the Auckland Art Gallery and various dealer galleries at the beginning of the year to view art exhibitions.

12PHO - PHOTOGRAPHY
During the year-long Year 12 Photography programme students engage in cycles of research and practical work. Using influences from a range of established New Zealand and international photographers, students produce several series of photographs based on the landscape, and figure in the landscape. Manual use of a DSLR camera and Photoshop are central to this programme.
Students go on a fieldtrip to Cornwall Park at the beginning of the year to practise using the camera manually while making various types of landscape photographs. |
